S-AWC shut off/trouble
#48
It should (and better be, car has 4400 miles on it)...however because it's so expensive it needs approval from the district manager before it is ordered. So I'll find out the verdict Monday.

I found out that my problem was with the brake lights!!! Apparently, the car detected that my LED bulbs voltage requirements is different and it pops up the SAWC checklight...

I agree 20˚F is not cold at all. How long does a repair like this take? Any gone to Mitsu already (read about the guy's that took a week)?
Bummer... I knew the car was fast didn't know the first problem would be as well...Still loads of fun anyway!

Well, I don't know why no one has mentioned this, but it says very clearly in the manual that if temps get very low and the viscocity of the AWC fluid becomes thicker, it will throw the awc service lights and what not. It won't affect normal driving, but it will disable certain features of the SAWC system. Hope this helps. If this is not what's occuring here, then good luck getting it fixed. Let us know what it turns out to be.

^ This is a valid point. I know a number of X owners that had this come up AND GO AWAY. That's what appears to be the main difference between cold and pump failure. Most people I've talked to had the Service Required go away when the car was returned to a nice warm garage. Mine didn't go away, and it sounds like Fusion's didn't either.

ya mine didnt either, but the car goes in on Friday to get looked at. They better no f around with it as this is clearly a problem. I now know 4 people in the Calgary and Edmonton area who have had this exact thing happen to them. I know it is an expensive part but really I paid over $50K for the car I want it to work. Oh and so far mitsu service is terrible. I am planning on telling the full story after I hear from them Friday. I don't want to talk bad about them if they are going to fix it. Has been in twice for this already though.

Went to the dealership today. He said that the computer shows there is air in the system. The tech cleared the code and bleed the system, but it did not work. The tech said he will order me a new pump.
