Here is a vid of my Inivida N1 race cat back w/ test pipe and downpipe combo. Includes startup, free-revving, and WOT/launch action.

That N1 definitely sounds aggressive. Sounds almost too loud for my taste. How is it in cabin compared to stock?

I have the HKS Legamax on my Evo X and it sounds just as loud as stock. The only difference is that it is a deeper growl. If you're looking for something similar sounding to stock, the Legamax is the one.

Yah I hear the legamax is a good one for being quiet. I also hear the Blitz Nur spec is. Also if you want real JDM, the Ralliart exhaust is pretty quiet as well. Though it's very expensive ($1380 for axle back).

The biggest problem with the legamax and the ralliart muffler is they have a tapered restriction going into the exhaust.

Has anyone successfully coated or changed the color of their exhaust tips? My issue is that mine immediately turned gold from high heat and now look nasty. I was told that all SS exhausts will do this. I hate gold on a grey car and would love to just have dark grey tips (E85 burns clean so no more soot to cover them). If not, I may have to switch to T1R for the Ti tips and hopefully quieter tone.

I took delivery of a Black Friday T1R 76S from Gearheads on Friday and fitted the cat-back portion on Saturday. Initially it was deeper, louder and burbled nicely. Now its settled into just a deeper sound than stock but not much louder at all, at any speed. The burble sounds nice. Fitment was perfect, the communication from Chayen were excellent and I'm very happy with the purchase. I have an O2 housing downpipe and hi-flow cat to fit, which I'll have the guys do when I get it tuned.
If you're looking for a very well made, well fitting exhaust with sound levels close to stock, I highly recommend it.
