You can't base the sounds of the exhaust on videos over the internet. Most of the video's taken were with point and shoot cameras or cell phones. Which all attribute to ****ty sound quality and why the exhausts sound like trash. Your best option would be to hear ones in person. The next best practical thing is if someone used a high quality external mic like a Rode...that's what I did for my exhaust video, and it's close to its true sound but not exact.

It's really hard to hear what an exhaust sounds like over the internet. I agree with AWDTerror, in person is your best bet to find the exhaust you want. We tried to put videos on our site which represent our exhaust, but each person has different speakers, subs, etc. So the note will never be the same.

Why do all the evo x exhausts sound like trash? I am trying hard to like the x, but it's difficult. Lack of a good sounding exhaust complicates this even further.
Does anyone know of a x exhaust that sounds like a 4g63 with a 3" turboback? (I had megan racing on all 3 of my past evos & their exhausts just sounded so good on the 4g63)...
At this point, if I was to get a x and upgrade the exhaust, I'd want it to be super quiet, because from most of what I've heard here the thing sounds like a neon and I hate that!

Simply put, that is an ignorant question. Several others on this site don't seem to think so. I thought everyone got over the 4G63 v. 4B11 ordeal. The Evo X won't sound like a 4G63 because.....it does not come equipped with that engine. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

Question one the Artisan Performance exhaust...
1. Is it a cat-back? I've been reading a lot that it comes with a test pipe already attached and that it does not have a cat? But descriptions say "cat-back"?
2. Does anybody know what sites carry them? Ive been looking all over google and nothing.

Hi. Great post with videos. Thanks to everyone who put effort in.
My question is which exhaust gives highest hp gain with lowest price?
example: Hks may give you 25 hp for $850 (assumption)
Then we pay $850/25 = $34 per 1 hp gain
I want to see if ERZ or CNT or OBZ makes sense to buy a simple catback for $399
Please share your feedback
