Blow off valve: Where is it at.

I want to get a blow off valve for my Evo. The question is, where is it at? Where do the hose on it run from and run to?

Can you use it in conjunction with a Turbo Hard pipe kit?

Thanks,

Gullie

Yes it can used with hard pipes. Attached is the picture of the engine bay. The red circle is the dump valve which you will replace with BOV.

Wow... I guess all I'll say is this: if you don't even know where the stock bypass valve is and what it looks like, I would stay away from modding your car.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this. gullie667, you possibly want to consider taking your car to a shop to have mods done.

i disagree.. just get a shop to do it and you have nothing to worry about..

Plus you have to start to learn somehow

the stock bov should be located near the exhaust manifold and turbo. plus your bov can be in the front or rear of your hard pipe setup. it all depends on whether you are gonna recirculate or vent the bov into the atmosphere. there are many different types of bov's and different spring rates so if you aren't sure take it to a professional instead of having problems later on.

Just my opinion, I have the stocker vta and it's still annoyingly quiet. My favorite is the ssqv and it's at least 3x louder than stock.

That's so ridiculous that you have an evo and don't even know where the BOV is.

HKS SSQV flutters a lot from what I've heard and evo's don't do well with them.

I see what your saying....to me tho, and this is IMO, i could spend the 300 bucks on something that would boost my performance vs. just sound. But....if i had the extra money to throw around i would def. upgrade.

I used a TiAL 50mm BOV, on my Eclipse race car, vent to atmosphere. However, I do not know which is better for the EVO, whether to recirculate or to vent to atmosphere.

i've always heard to have it recirculate is better for the evo...but of course you won't hear that PSSSSHHHH sound like some is aiming for when it vents into the atmosphere.

and come on guys, is it really that hard to believe some people don't know what a BOV looks like or where it is? for a good number of people here, it's his/her first turbo car. everyone has to start somewhere, sheesh.

He's gotta learn somewhere. Its not that ridiculous

anyways, i think stock is good enough. BOV should only be for those with a lot of "go" to back up the "show"
