I am not planning to do a whole lot of mods on the car and want the mods I do to be somewhat stealth since Cali cops can be a pain.

Currently the car has an HKS drop in filter and Cat back exhaust. I am thinking about getting it tuned, but dont want to have to re-tune if I do more mods.

The other mods I am considering are RRE upper intercooler piping and a Perrin turbo inlet pipe. Both are black and are somewhat stealthy mods, but being this is my first turbo car I dont really no if the gains are worth the extra 300.00 bucks for the parts (if there are gonna be gains at all). I know removing the flex pipe in the eom upper intercooler piping should help give boost some stability, and the smoother build of the inlet pipe should help the turbo spool faster and allow inlet air to get in quicker..... but are the worth it?

Should I just tune the car the way it is now or should I go for the other two mods and then go for the tune??? What do you all think and why?

If you don't plan on modding the car much more, save the $300.00 and get a tune.

You will see gains on the UPPER IC Pipe
You might see minimal gains on the Intake Pipe

Is it worth the $300.00...... probably not.

IF you don't plan on going ***** out with the mods.... keep it simple. Keep your drop in, cat back, and tune it. You should net around 300 hp with that combo... regardless of Dyno...

I recently installed an AMS UICP & Perrin turbo inlet tube. My turbo seems to rev up quicker, and the power comes on sooner at highway speeds.

I agree though, going to Stage 1 using the off the shelf Cobb tune has given the best bang so far.

Ultimately, the tune is better bang for buck then any possible mod. I think UCIP is more for engine bling

The UICP allows for better airflow and less pressure drop which ultimately results in great gains. In addition to this, you're engine will look much blingier

I agree. I went ahead and installed an UICP, turbo inlet and intake + tune. Great, cheap set of mods to get you going.

Good choice, I think that replacing the UICP just to lose the flexible oem pipes is worth it. Mine have popped off after some hard cornering and now I have a boost leak.

The UICP is certainly a worthwhile mod for the Evo X, you should definitely get one.

So what is the advantage of the LICP? I'm about to order the UICP and i'm just debating if it's worth spending the extra cash or put it towards other stuff.

Not really necessary. You will be fine with just the UICP. I removed my bumber over the weekend, and the LICP does not appear to be restrictive.

The LICP doesn't provide any real noticeable gains, it's mainly for show. I bought one anyway and installed it a week or two ago. Didn't notice any difference except for a bit more bling in the engine bay.
