HKS EVC for EvoX

Just got myself an EVC for EVOX. Was a special release from HKS.

As far as i can tell, its a normal EVC with an Evolution X sticker. Also has some instructions specifically for EvoX and comes with pre-programmed data. Didnt cost a lot more than a standard EVC, so why not.

Currently at 1.4bar Low Boost and 1.6bar High Boost. Tuner will set it properly on Thursday together with my reflash.

Posted some pics of the box, evox instruction, and where i mounted it.

Actually it is different from the standard EVC. It allows you to adjust the offset more negative than the standard version. The standard edition will only let you go -120 to +120 kpa but the EvoX edition lets you go from -170 to +70 kpa. What this does it allows you to lower your partial throttle boost more than the standard edition to avoid CELs. You can also get your firmware reflashed in Japan to allow you to make your standard EVC into the EvoX Edition for like $50 USD.

The car seems a lot more aggresive after the EVC install...

Its on default rite now, I just checked A mode = 140KPA, B mode = 150KPA.

What have u guys set your boost at.. I keep seeing really high figures like 28psi. Isn't that 2 bar?

I just got mine for my WW, I was shown basically how to use A for low boost 1.3 bars and B for high boost at 1.5 bars, but the mechanic who was showing me how to use it after tuning my car is japanese and his english isn't the best so i didn't understand what he was saying about the other buttons on the EVC monitor. Anybody care to enlighten me? It would be much appreciated!

Should be in the manual. Mine came with several addendum's printed on green paper in addition to the full english manual.

If you did not get the english manual with yours, you can find a copy on scribd, If I can find the link again, I'll post it here.

Found it:

Hi guys.. yah i bought the same thing as this one but ever since i changed my steering wheel i kinda felt like i lost some boost. On the high boost 1.6bar it doesn't reach.. it actually drop o 1.4bar.

Does anyone here have the same problem? what should i do to fix this? is it ECU or do i need to reset the boost again?
