One thing to consider if you are autocrossing is that replacing your FMIC puts you into BSP. And to stay in BSP it has to be just a drop in change, no modifications required to support it (like how URs requires a piece to be changes/cut).

And I'm in for another $500 AGP deal if you get that worked out

Companies getting cores from mexico and putting diff. names on it???
Your wrong.
They get them from texas.
lol. (but seriously, a lot do.)
How come HKS Type 2, ARC, or Blitz are not mentioned here?
I would go for HKS Type 2, I have seen Perrin and AMS in person, they look wicked sick. AMS has tested theirs on the previous 1100whp drag car, so it is performance tested. I would prefer fin-ends rather than cast or sheet metal.

A Newb question -

Does an upgraded FMIC (Perrin, AMS, AGP, etc...) help reliability? I have a Cosworth drop in filter and the WORKS mail in flash..., but that is it...? Most of the reading I've done on this site discusses the HP gains and the ability to keep your WHP's consistent after hard runs, but I've not seen much in the way of helping the reliability of the car after a tune.

You need a retune after a intercooler. Yes, it helps reliability.

My friend has a AMS FMIC on his IX and he loves it...One the other hand I have the ETS 4" FMIC and also love it.Just buy one and if you don`t like it put it on Ebay and get another one.If you are concerned with price then remember you usually get what you pay for.

Same here, after extensive research, I came to a conclusion that the ETS core is one of the best out there. Plus it is very close to the stock specifications which will mate nicely with any hardpipe kit.

I think the 4" requires some modification on the car to fit in correctly, I'm not too sure, better doublecheck.
