I need...a quiet exhaust
#17
You should take any info regarding "quiet" exhaust on car forumswith a grain of salt. Quiet is pretty relative and also most of these people have some form of hearing lost due to loud exhaust that got quieter over time (year because they lost their hearing..lol). I swear there's always some joker that claims Blitz Nur-Specs are "not too loud" or some other exhaust being "way too quiet".
Best bet is to go to car meets, tuner shops(sounds like the OP is planning on doing this) or arrange with someone in your area to hear the exhaust in person.

but i do think i'm going to get a T1R locally, if it's still there. i noticed everyone says it's "stock-ish," and not just "quiet," which is encouraging.
not from what i saw - it's just one very, very long, straight pipe, with nothing attached.

yeah now i know...i've always known that "quiet" is relative, but it seems like that term to most in this forum is my equivalent of "omfg loud." again, it's relative, so i'm not trying to knock anyone for anything. my expectation is just that much higher.

T1R is not loud at all. sounds almost quiet as stock but w/ deeper tone.
you can pick up an used one https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...k-exhaust.html
and use that left over money to get your strut bars!
i can vouch for shannon

from what i've heard the RRE is extremely quiet. However, i picked up shannon's used T1R exhaust and it is good enough for me. not loud at all but it does have the deep growl to it.

The new AMS Dual Tip TBE isn't raspy like some of the coffee-can looking systems out there, but it still isnt that quiet.
Check it out:

It also looks nearly stock which is also nice.
