2nd Gear jerky Clutch Grab? GSR Manual

Is anyone else experiencing this. I'm at 9400 miles into the car, no launches ever on this car nor high speed shifting. Getting the same brick wall feel to second gear and slight grind to third gear but it seems that I believe from 3000 miles to now and so forth the second gear grab when I'm clutching always jerks unless I go super super slow on the clutch release and slip it a bit when the clutch grabs the gear. Is this like a trait of an Evo or something is going out? This is specifically 2nd gear, not for the other gears. I get the jerky grabs between 1500-3500 rpm shifts. This is my first manual car I owned btw but it's not like I never driven a manual before (friends car was a manual) and it's been a year.

Any manual tranny will be jerky going from 1st to second if you aren't smooth with the clutch uptake or if you don't give the right proprtion of gas to clutch during the uptake. It will also do this if you let the rpms drop too much while the clutch is in because the rpms have to play catch up one the clutch is engaged. If the rpms are dropping because you are shifting slowly to avoid the notorious "crunch," blip the throttle to match the rpms for a smoother upshift. In any case, the problem is your driving skills, amigo. Just keep practicing, you'll get it. Most people have this problem when they first learn how to drive a stick. Give it a few months and you'll be a lot smoother. When you're ready, try to make it a point to learn how to rev match and heal/toe downshift. After you develop a truely master level skill set with driving a stick, you will look back on yourself now and go, "wow, I had no idea there was this much technique involved in driving a stick!"

Clutch is only covered under the basic warrenty as a wear and tear item and is not covered under the 60k powertain.

I can do heal/toe just fine. It's true that I try to avoid the 2nd gear crunch so my transfer time from first to second is slow and typically the rpm drops a bit fast. I'll try to adjust a blip into my shifts for starters. I read from the other forum that 2nd gear catch is typically a bit jerky if your not cautious for awd cars. Got to live with it I guess.

I believe the Evo X does not have an adjustable clutch pedal. Then again I have not check behind the pedal yet.

I drive a new 2010 X GSR too and I notice the same thing. Be extra smooth with the clutch going into second and third. When shifting into 4th and 5th you can be much faster. I was looking at the oil meter today and noticed first and second smooth out automatically when the gauge is right between the Hot and Cold. I usually let my car sit for a couple minutes and don't move until I have at least a tick or two of the oil light appearing on the screen.

Changing the tranny oil should help out some with the shifting problem.

2nd gear seems to jerk more in my 2010 compared to my 08, occasionally even with the same release rate and throttle position it still jerks when on other instances it didn't as bad. I only have noticed this in the 1->2 shift. FWIW I shift the car quickly
