ARC UICP and HKS Installed
Here is what's going on in my X as of now:
I think I'm going to need to get a tune asap. The ECU seems to be going a little nutso since it's not used to getting this much air coming in. WOT it cuts off all boost and basically runs NA. However, if I go easy on it, then the boost kicks in to about what it used stock at WOT.
Lots of power to unlock with tune! Will be getting down & test pipe by the end of the month and tune next month.

no leak, actually. was doing same thing when intake alone was installed; keep in mind that there is no vacuum needed for intake. you can take the whole filter off if you'd like.
Anyhow, confirmed my hypothesis with my mechanic, roadrace, and hbspeed.

I've heard some weird things about the HKS intake and not running smooth. As far as i'm concerned, it looks the best out of all the intake options though...

That intake certainly costs less than the $1400 carbon fiber one. Do you have any issues when the AC fan kicks in at idle without an intake shield of some sort? As for the boost cut, likely you are getting too high in the load cells at your boost level and will need to increase those values especially in the low to mid range. You can do it with EcuFlash if you are willing to learn the basics or take it to a tuner to sort out.

As far as idle goes, every once in a while after driving it hard and having AC on it will bounce between 1k and 750 rpm pretty hard.
So what was your hypothesis? Fueling is not accurate because of intake?
This could be a reason why the ECU is more defensive.
PS. Thanks for all the kind words!
