Extremely Low Idle (50-100 rpm)
Today I went to start my car after it had been sitting outside for 2 hours (more or less) and turned the key to start, and when the car began to start as usual, it acted as though it was stalling, with rpm's not reaching over 100, it sounded like an engine running out of gas with the whole pusating feeling.. (the car was in neutral and clutch was to the floor) after sounding as though it was going to die, the rpms finally jumped up to standard idle (after about 8 seconds).. Any ideas what this could be? Car has most recent flash from dealer and mods are as shown below, never have had this issue before. 6650miles on ODO...

A stumbling idle is normal with the X. Do you have any mods without tuning it? Have you done the factory reflash?

This is the same problem that I am having with my MR. The only difference that my vehicle rpms will be around 400-600 and it will turn off after 10-20 seconds of doing this.
I posted about this yesterday and about 60 people read it with no replies. I guess you and I are by ourselves in this problem.

No, I literally mean like 100 rpm. My car sounded like it was going to turn off but then rebounded just to repeat the same process, I used to have the issue with the squirley idle but that was fixed after the new map from mitsu and my AEM intake.. this is something different.

What are temps like outside and how full (or empty) was your gas tank?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vapor_lock
I've had some mild symptoms of this during hot weather and starting the car after 30-45 minutes, it usually clears up within a few seconds though. Blipping the throttle will usually clear things up pretty quickly. I think temps peak after parking the car around the 20 minute mark and then slowly taper down over the next couple hours.

A vapor lock is more likely to develop when the vehicle is in traffic because the under-hood temperature tends to rise. A vapor lock can also develop when the engine is stopped while hot and the vehicle is parked for a short period. The fuel in the line near the engine does not move and can thus heat up sufficiently to form a vapor lock. The problem is more likely in hot weather or high altitude in either case.

What happens sometimes is the fuel in the lines gets so hot that it turns to vapor. This could be caused by temps from outside components over heating the lines. If it's a one time thing I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens consistently there is probably a problem.
Most modern vehicles are designed in such a way that this is not an issue. If it keeps happening it could be a problem with your fuel pump or your injectors and you should have them checked out. Your case sounds like it was a random one time thing.

^feel the same way here. Well at least I have something to tell the mits mechanic (taking my car in just to give me a peace of mind). You know make it seem like I know what I am talking about.

checked that , its fine, and always have been.. I don't know, I guess I will just have to get used to my car doing wierd things, even though for 40k I shouldn't settle for anything less than perfection.

Idle low RPM's
Hey I've been having this problem as well. It hasn't been a one time thing, and there isn't anything constant about it either. I'm taking the car into the dealer soon for the fuel line recall and will have them check it out but my car is doing the exact same as yours. It almost sounds like it's going to die and it'll shoot up. On the flip side though, I've had it do the opposite, where the RPM's have gone as high as 1500 to 2000 rpm while backing up out of my drive way? The RPM's don't seem to want to go down until I put it in first and drive off, even when I put it in neutral it will still stick at 1500 +. Something is definitely not entirely right. I'm curious to see what mitsu says about this problem.
