Bumping this up.
So my cars been NA for the past 6 month... and I finally have a weekend open to work on it. Here is the result.
Now to contact my seller tomorrow to get some warranty work. Hopefully they won't give me the run around.

hmm... I assume that is bad? I did spray it with lots of lube before I took it off. Not sure if that is lube or oil.
The turbo has only 1200+ miles before the flapper broke off... =(
update: just got done taking the turbo off. took me 3 hrs, not bad i say..
that oil was from my gloves when i tried to feel if the flapper was still there when i took the downpipe off, cause i didnt see oil anywhere else inside.

The Oil appears to have been rubbed on sometime after the last engine start, that area is way too hot to have somewhat fresh looking oil just sitting around in only those spots.
I couldn't have imagined going 6 months with normally aspirated setup, I would have gone crazy! Even for daily driving, the car is often in the 3-5 psi range on light acceleration and without that it really bogs down the car. I sent you a PM but basically you should be able to leave what's left of the flapper in there provided it doesn't leak exhaust gas through the pivot arm.
I did end up welding an O2 bung into my testpipe and that is working just fine for the AEM Wideband setup.

so... this turbo is fine now correct? i mean any new ones will have the new wg setup and not be defective?
power wise, is this turbo better than a fp red, or about the same? and I wonder if FP couldnt take one of these and gut it for some 35r action.....
