amsoil motor oil

can anyone recommend against using the regular amsoil 5w30XL over mobile 1 5w30? I know the SSO stuff is supposedly good stuff but it's pricey (i'm only DD'ing my car no track time so please keep that in mind).

For DD just use the M1 hell if you want cheap and good quality get 5 QT. Valvoline at wal-mart.

well i ask because a case of the amsoil 5w30xl is cheaper than the equivalent m1 even through wal-mart if using the preferred customer account prices.

If AMSOIL is actually cheaper for you, I'd do that. It's a well rated oil, I just don't see the normal-pricing be a good value for a DD.

If you're simply daily driving mobil 1 will be enough - if you plan a turbo upgrade i'd then switch to amsoil. I was just at walmart yesterday and they have 5 quarts of mobil 1 5w30 for $24.50 - pick up a filter at the dealership for $6 and you have yourself a $30 oil change.

AMSOIL XL5W30 is a much supperior oil than Mobil for many reason, AMSOIL being a group 4 oil 100% synthetic, you will also be able to run the XL much longer than mobil without concerns.
