Evo X GSR tranny question

Whats being done to make these trannys stronger and hold more power. I see many people making well over 450whp now and with all the talk about these weak trannys what are you guys doing to make them hold. buschur diff pins and clutch I guess but anything else ? Putting the power down at the drag strip...not just cruising around

Who is saying it's weak? The 5 speed in the GSR is nice and strong. The stock clutch tends not to last very long with upgraded power levels and abuse, and obviously the plastic clutch master cylinder, but that's all I've heard of.

The stock diff pins seem like they are braking more and more and shooting shattering the tranny..happend to me and a few others i know in person and even on the forum

Launching/drag racing? Track? Daily driving? The transmission itself can take a good amount of power, but it depends on how you treat it also.

if you drive the car like an a**hole then it's not going to last... if you bought the car strictly to drag race (hopefully just on the track) just about any car will have to have stronger parts for it.. it's common sense. Then again their are PLENTY of guys who track their cars here and their transmissions are fine, just because a few people say the trannys suck doesn't mean much when you have a few thousand more who have no problems with theirs. I don't launch mine so I can't speak from experience, but also keep in mind it's a rally based car and while it does great on the 1/4, it's not meant for that.

Launching/hard shifting causes the diff pins to work loose.

The 5MT should be fine for pretty high power levels...
