Oil in intake: sign of a problem, or just in need of a catch can?

I installed my HM intake today and noticed there was a thin film of oil around the inlet of my turbo. The car only has 5600 miles on it. Is this normal, or is there a problem with my engine?

If it's normal, I'm thinking of getting a catch can so this oil doesn't end up in my intercooler. What's up with these cans costing over $100? I see Megan has one for under $100, but I'm not seeing clearly what makes a catch can better than the other.

Thanks!

This has been discussed over and over the past years, i had the same issue with my IX, i ended up atmosphere venting the valve cover with a filter breather, and cleaning the entire system to get all the oil out,, oil can hinder you and raise your temps because it creates an oil film inside the intercooler.

Joe it's not a SIGN of a problem if your valve cover vent is fed into your air intake. It's normal for oil to come from that vent, but it's not the best thing for your car.

Look into a catch can and maybe look into a pcv delete as well to catch all that blow by and vented gas.

Thanks for the input guys. That's what a figured, but I was little worried/surprised at the film of oil that had accumulated already after only 5600 miles. I've been looking at the weapon R catch can and tossing in some stainless steel scouring pads in the can vs trying out this saiko michi brand I'm reading about.
