Depending on who you are, yes or no. It is really loud. Really really loud. But I love the sound, so no downside to me. If you dont like the noise then yes it has a downside. The first time my wife was in the car with the new turbo and open dump downpipe she got scared and asked me what was wrong with my car lol.

You will need to retune if you are changing the downpipe. And I dont think people see much of a difference with downpipes on the stock turbo. As I went strait to a T3 kit I am not a 100% on this though. So yes you should be fine doing it but it may not be worth the cost. If this is just another step for future modding then its well worth it.

I hit target boost a lot earlier now with the ETS open dump. It locks on peak boost like no ones business.

On another note, people keep referring to an open dump as "too loud". It only gets loud at WOT (when the wastegate opens up). Driving normally around town, you wouldnt even know you had an open dump.

LOL, love it. Same here with my wife. Friends riding in the backseat at hwy speeds (under 120 anyway) will make minor complaints about the noise level too -- So I turn up the stereo! I love the sound at WOT and during engine braking. Sexy.

If you do not eliminate the 02 sensor will it throw codes? And I am debating whether to use ams or ets.. I am changing my exhaust because I went with the Tsudo exhaust and I regret it horribly. I am prob going with a Buschur exhaust.
