I am considering AMS downpipe (o2 housing), I searched and could not find any sound file for my setup.

I am currently running HKS legamax, HKS center pipe and AP testpipe, sound is not loud no cops attention all good.

so my question is for AMS downpipe owners
before and after comparison, how loud is the downpipe?

I did my DP install first... with stock cat and exhaust back in the day... it barely made the stocker louder IIRC. Maybe the tone changed a little bit.

I think your sound profile will stay around the same.

I have an AMS bellmouth dp and test pipe coming in this week (hopefully) so I can give you some insight once I get it installed.

 

Just the downpipe will barely change the sound, if at all. A high flow cat or test pipe will make the exhaust noticeably louder.

There was a thread started about this recently. The addition of a downpipe will not change the sound enough for you to notice. The tone may change but it will not get louder.

 

I didn't go with AMS but my experience was that the sound of the exhaust was improved in tone and actually less annoying. On the other hand the sound level of the turbo from inside the cabin definitely went up a notch.

I dont think DP can change exhaust sound, if you change o2 housing, turbo becomes more noisy

 

I actually just put the AMS O2 downpipe on... the turbo is much louder now (i like it a lot, its also the FPred now though too) and the exhaust tone got throatier, so better! It did get a little louder though too.
