Megan racing CBE for 350. am i missing something?

I agree 100%. An exhaust is just a pipe with a muffler, or resonator, or both. As long as it fits where it's supposed to, it's pretty hard to screw up. What's the difference between a Megan exhaust and a "name brand" exhaust? Nothing but the name. They're all 3" pipes with a muffler...
all the same for me as long as it's 3 inch..they may differ from weight but i don't care much of that..

BINGO! You hit it right on the nose. Megan offers exhausts in mild steel to bring down costs. They also offer stainless, but for more $$$.
Megan is actually a good brand. I wouldnt "hold off" buying Megan to waste your money on a Bling bling uber titanium JDM gansta exhaust. The Megan will perform just as well. If you like it, then buy it.

megan has made good inexpensive parts for evo's for a while, they tried a even cheaper alternative with the black and it didnt work out, it happens, aside from peeling I'm sure it worked

If you did more research, you would know that most of the parts on your car (oem and aftermarket) were made in China. So before you start waving the JDM flag, do a little more reading my friend..

I don't understand what people mean by "you get what you pay for" in reference to an exhaust... I mean its a damn pipe.
If it were getting cams, I would understand that you don't go for the no-name get the kelfords or whatever.
But, I mean its a 3 inch pipe... from the cat back.
@samleeiii: an extra couple hundred on a 35grand car isn't really alot, but its still a waste when you can get a 3in pipe that works just as well for a couple hundred less than if you got it from across an ocean.

^however, the megan exhaust is mild steel where brands like invidia who sells there single exit for like $455 or the magnafflow mentioned above are made of stainless steel. Why not spend the extra cash be sure that you will get an exhaust that will last the lifetime of the car. If you have to buy another exhaust a couple of years down the line due to rust you have just at least doubled the price of your exhaust system.
