Stock BOV/BPV leak test

So i thought I'd leak test the stock bov/bpv. you'll have to turn the volume up for the video
:08 pressure crosses 25psi and you can begin to hear it leak.
:15 pressure gets to 28psi and leak becomes very audible
:18 pressure increased to 30psi and it leaks really bad
:32 pressure reduced to 25psi leak decreases but still there
:40 had to drop pressure down to 20psi for the leak to stop completely

I would have done the hks i have now but the silicone seal blew off of my rig at 45spi with no leaking.

YouTube - Evo X stock BOV leak test

the interesting part is that when it started to leak i had to drop the pressure all the way down to 20psi before it resealed.
so for the stock turbo guys; after your boost spike your leaking all the way down to 20 psi making it even harder to get the stock turbo to keep pressure

I wonder if my crushed OEM bpv works any better. I feel like it is leaking.

I am going with a synapse one for sure now. Just need more people for the group buy.

Edit: Nice post btw.

Good info. The problem is though that there is a big variation between stock BOVs. I don't know if it's a quality control issue or what. My BOV does not start leaking till 28 psi and closes back around 24-25psi. I was able to test 2 more and one held at 20psi and the other held around 25psi.

^it's not a quality control issue though, i am sure they test them for stock boost levels, which everyone works fine on.
