A good mechanic should do a visual also. They're supposed to anyway. I'm not sure what they would think about the mil.spec cats. Unless they know what they are looking at, they might just think it's a resonator. Anyone have that experience??

I have a TP and it stinks. When coming to a stop or idling in a driveway, it's fairly bad. Others say that a TP has no smell---go figure!
No I don't have an exhaust leak as every single gasket in the system from the head to the tail pipes were changed and all components are fairly new.
My state doesn't perform emissions testing (suckers) so my interest in a HFC is strictly to tame the smell.
Does the AMS or any other HFC actually tame the smell even at idle in a driveway?
