SSP - Newcomer81's blown motor/build thread !!

While traveling from Norfolk, VA to Johns-town, PA for a funeral (of all things) Jesse had a very unfortunate, catastrophic engine failure. To make matters even worse, he was now stranded on the side of RT 70 (middle of no where) about 2 hours away from his hotel and family. With that said, he was obviously in quite the predicament.... being several hours from home....not knowing any good shops in the area.....and most importantly, who's towing the car! Now this is where I come in.

While sitting on the side of Rt 70, Jesse had no clue what to do, or who to call. So he made a desperate call to me in hopes I could point him in the right direction. My heart immediately went out to him, since I to have been the victim of a blown motor and know how devastating it came be. Not to mention, adding a funeral to the mix made it that much more depressing.

I immediately went into "logistics mode" called my good friend JJ (the owner of IAG Performance) and informed him of the situation. It didn't matter that it was after hours, and the shop was totally closed..... Between IAG, and SSP, we had a tow truck on the way within the hour, and figured out all the logistics to make sure his car would be safe and secure until it arrived at IAG in the morning.

So first thing this morning, I took the trip out to IAG Performance to see the damage first hand. Now since it was pitch black out when his motor blew, he wasn't exactly sure "how bad" things were. Well, as much as it pains me to say this......His engine is totally destroyed! Oil and metal chunks all over the place. Here's some of the pictures I took of the carnage.

Thats what happens on 30+psi on an FPred, I would know.

Seems like all the people pushing their cars limits are finally starting to see their motors letting go.

Sucks, hopefully he gets it all fixed up!

according to his post on evoxforums he wasn't even really boosting at the time...

yes he runs meth, but if he wasn't boosting much then meth probably wasn't running...

E85 or Meth...and Tephra runs Meth

I would do drop ins if I were you Tephra with the low end torque of the stocker. So much cheaper to do it without having to buy a new block.
