2008 GSR 4th Gear Whine
Didn't get a response on another forum, any input would be awesome.
So I have been researching this over the last month or two and I haven't really found anyone with a similar problem. I have a whine that I only get in 4th gear, it's gotten worse over the last couple months and at first I assumed 4th gear was shot. (I've never miss shifted or grinded 4th gear) However after doing some research I have been told that a bad gear generally tends to continue to whine or even whine worse when you let off the gas. As soon as I release the gas pedal with the car still in 4th the whine stops. I don't think it's the transfer case for the above reason as well as there being no whine in 5th gear.
I have had one person tell me it's my throw out bearing but I don't understand why this would cause whining in only one gear. Maybe someone could enlighten me on that.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I'm tempted to change one at a time and see what happens. I'd hate to change all three at the same time and then the noise goes away and I have no idea which one it was.
