Ordered Garrett GTX3582R 450-750 hp turbo today!!

I was really torn between this and the FP Black but in the end I decided to go with the new Garrett GTX line. As soon as I get some picks of my existing and new engine I will start a build thread. This will go on a built engine with Manley pistons, rods, springs, Cosworth bearings, Kelford stage2, etc on a 2.0 block. The rest is ETS: exhaust manifold w/ ext wastegate port, uicp, licp, 4" fmic, intake, recirc DP, HFC, & V2 Quiet. Fuel is provided via Walboro single 255 and I have a Bosch inline on the shelf.

This turbo will be replacing a Dom2 (for sale soon).
I have no intention of taking this thing anywhere close to the limit until I can get a new clutch/MC. Stay tuned....

I think you will find that the 3582 is a solid choice and a very enjoyable turbo. My first turbo upgrade on the x was an old school 35r and it was an absolute blast.

Nice choice. I really do wonder how the GTX turbo compares the the HTA. Both have billet compressor wheels but they aren't identical. Probably too close to call. I'm sure you will be happy regardless. It's one incredible turbo but I would consider a stroker kit if rebuilding. Will make for a less peaky powerband.

I'm not sure how it compares to the HTA. I wish I could afford a stroker kit!!

Will definitly keep my eye on this thread. I've been looking at this turbo for a while now, I'm considering selling my HTA 35r to go this route but I'm not too sure at the power gains im going to see.

GL with build.

Just curious, did you have a bad experience with them? I believe they moved recently
