Is an AP really necessary? I thought the stock ecu was just fine with a reflash?

The COBB AP is used to flash the ECU. As long as you stay on the COBB recommended parts list and don't get creative, the off the shelf (OTS) maps, available for download from COBB, give you instant bang for the buck.

Stock Car makes 215whp/240tq on Buschurs Dyno
Stage 1-2 makes roughly 300whp/300tq on Buschurs Dyno

Buschurs Dyno is a low reading Mustang Dyno so it would be more like 345whp/345tq on a dynojet.

My friend has a Cobb AP that i can use anytime

Other than that i plan on getting the rest of my exhaust soon and possibly meth injection. Then head to AMS for some maps.. I plan on doing this stuff with my tax refund

Prolly going to pic up a set of wheels soon too, If anyone has some for sale PM me or anything that i could get aside of what i have already!

Just fyi, the AP will only work on one car at a time, so unless your friend doesn't have a car that it's married to, you're going to need your own.

suspension first then power

so my vote is for kw v3's ~1700

do the install yourself, then get an alignment + corner balancing ~400

that's roughly 3k right there

then go exhaust + hi flow cat or test pipe + fmic + tune later on

Ugh I was way off! Well it's WORTH $600 how about that!?! LOL I just checked my notes and it was about $450 w/ ceramic coating--worth every penny to keep heat down at the back of the engine bay!

FWIW I did get almost that entire list via MAP--they have great prices and top notch customer service!

i would go with 3-port and full bolts-on and get a tune.

Don't waste your money on an intake at the power level you are talking about (with tune and exhaust). Then again, I would not put lowering springs on an evo so......

Best bang for the buck IMO, (upper ic pipe, turbo back exhaust, drop in filter, boost pill or 3 port, tune, then a good alignment and some good sticky tires (Z1 star specs for example).

Take the left over and go to a driving school or track day.
