Buscher, ams, and ets make great fmic. Since you can get the buscher for cheaper, get it.

All of them are good. If you can get a good deal on buschur I say get that one. I was not going to get a buschur tho because I don't want to modify any brackets. I wanted a tire bolt-on.

That is a concern I have also but from what can tell it is not all that bad. Anyone have any personal experience with this?

All of them make great intercoolers. Go with whatever fits your needs best. However, i went with Buschur's BFIC on mine and at 52psi the temp rise after the core was minimal

Ehh.. most mods people put on are overkill for what they use their car for, myself included.

And I realize the bracket mod is very minor but I just didn't want to deal with it. Like I said, if you van get a good deal I would go for it.

If you don't mind cutting a little bit of the bracket off that bumper beam on the front side then it's no big deal. I've got the Buschur on mine and love it. If you ever plan on going big or even going huge turbo wise it will still easily have you covered and is a great improvement over the stock FMIC.

I'd personally go with a direct bolt-on such as the AMS, ETS, or Perrin rather than something that needs trimming/hacking to fit. Plus I like cores that take up the entire opening to fully utilize the available airflow.

I have the AMS FMIC and love it. But either way you go is a good choice.

Look at the intercooler width as well. The front bumper opening on an X is 20" wide. The 4.5" core is 18" wide and AMS and ETS are 20" wide.

Thanks!

Michael
