Stock turbo over speed
So this is the first time I am attempting to tune a car with boost taper such as the stock turbo on the X has. My question is what boost should I "force" the turbo to taper to. I couldn't find a compressor efficiency map for the X turbo as this may be helpful in determining this. In my question I am basically wondering that if I can make the turbo taper to no lower than 20 PSI, is that 20 PSI bad for it at redline because this is outside of the turbos efficiency range? So my core question is what max boost (at any RPM) and what boost should I allow the stock turbo to taper to? I would think that running 100% WGDC's up top would be a really bad idea so how do I go about tuning or allowing this taper to occur. I am tuning the car on E85 so the fuel will not be the limiting factor here. I want the optimum boost targets for both maximum power and overall efficiency so that I don't create premature turbo wear from over-speed of the wheel. I have researched this for a better part of the day and cannot come to any conclusions excepts that my knowledge and gut makes me feel like it is a bad idea to force the stock turbo above its efficiency range at redline and that trying to eliminate some of the taper (I know I cannot prevent it all) might be a bad idea as far as turbo wear and longevity is concerned.
My mods:
E85
ETS 4" Intercooler
ETS O2 dump DP and Testpipe
3" cat-back
AMS Intake
GM 3-Port BCS
DW1300's
DW 300 LPH pump
Upgraded fuel rail
etc...etc...
I am using AccessTuner Race to tune the car.

From what I have seen 25psi tapering down to 15. Car with standard boltons
On second check more like 26psi to 18psi might need a different BOV
also read this:
