Be sure you know EXACTLY what you're doing or pay a competent shop WITH 4B11 EXPERIENCE to do the job, cams on the X are not a drop-in affair like they are on the previous Evos/4G63 engine. Also, expect at least a few days of downtime while waiting for the proper buckets to be ordered.

i know that any size kelford has a higher lift then to any of its competition companies. if you dont understand that than here you go..... a Kelford 272/272 has a higher lift than a HKS 272/272

for me i dont like being tight with my money and settleing for something i dont actually want. if i cant afford it at the time i wait till i can get what i really want

Do you have an actual technical reason why they are "garbage" or is this just your opinion with no actual reason?

to be technical i think most members on this forum will tell you they are garbage. a good friend of mine had one snap while he was parking his car. on my car with 272s on the ix we went with 3 different tuners and not one of them could get the tune down correctly without rough idle while same lift and duration on hks cams gives you perfect near stock idle, ivey told me they are garbage and i would never buy anything from bc. thats just my opinion. oh and if you search a thread was made about why you shouldnt buy those cams.

they are garbage.

Check out this huge comparison:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-cam-test.html

Comparing 268/268 and 272/272 doesn't tell the whole story. A GSC cam has a shorter intake lift and a longer exhaust lift than a similar HKS cam, so it's going to have a different effect on your car.

What are you going to be using your car for? DD with occasional track days? Maybe your main focus should be usable mid range power. Drags? Look at some of the cams that affect the top end more, but be prepared to upgrade your valve springs as well. The bigger you go, the more ancillary items will need to be upgraded as well.

I've wondered about the random differences in prices as well... You can spend $250 more for a set of cams that don't get reviewed as well as cams from GSC, so I wonder why anyone does.
