Nope, I've been rocking the HDG6 since last summer. Fantastic clutch, not too heavy, grabby, and smooth enough to DD with ease.

I had the 6 puck sprung with heavy duty pressure plate for my evo VIII and IX and bought another one for my X. The VIII and IX i used the streetlite flywheel but with my X im just turning the stocker.
In my opinion they are a perfect all around clutch. They hold power, you can slip them (enough), pedal pressure isn't bad at all, and they are inexpensive.

From what I've read, sounds like it might be the winner for your needs/desires.

David, spec clutches are garbage, stay away from them.

I talked to the guys at Cobb yesterday out of curiosity to see what they're using in the X's and they said primarily Spec and Exedy clutches.

well the HDSS is only rated for 510tq (flywheel im guessing, so 380 atw)

since a 2.5L + black will probably rock 450+ that option is out.

I really dont want an ON/OFF clutch so I think the HDG6 is out as well.. No point in having 600whp if its a pain to drive daily...

Might check out carbonetics...

If you want a stock like clutch and it needs to hold a lot of torque...you are looking at a twin clutch I'd say.

Stay away from exedy, unless you get their triple, their doubles don't hold well at all if you are launching/beating on them.

i always used the Exedy twin , never an issue. I do quite often launches
I vote for the exedy twin HD .
if it comes down to clutches i always use exedy , any other we tried didnt do a same driving feeling or job.
For the price and so i think the best clutch. Should be a good reason why HKS or Cusco makes they own clutch based on the Exedy. Or why the manufacturer uses exedy clutch.

I don't think the exedy twin is a bad clutch...but locally the ACT 6 pucks have held more torque/power and handled launching far better than the exedy twin.

I'd like to try an exedy twin myself as I have heard they drive like stock.

The Exedy Twin HD only holds ~535 tq's

which is about the same as the ACT HDSS (full face)

so unfortunatley thats not enough

+ I see a LOT of problems with Exedy (yeah i know its all percentage based) so I think I will give them a miss..

thanks thou for the feedback.. btw Rob did you fix your motor??
