best fmic

hi looking for a front mount intercooler, read a lot of threads regarding this subject, which is the best intercooler to buy, looking to get 350 whp, have narrowed my search, just wanted some opinions which would be a better buy, i also want an intercooler that is visually pleasing, do not want a new intercooler that looks old out of the package, so far i am leaning towards ams, greddy, perrin, and ets, the first three are almost the same price, the ets is the cheepest and offered in a anodized black finish, so if you were buying one which would you get thanks

Honestly, all those are solid choices. Since you like black...check out this deal from Perrin's outlet store:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERRI...Q5fAccessories

I helped a local install his Perrin X FMIC and I was really impressed with it; same with the one I had on my IX.

Can you hit 350 on the stock core? Sure. Can you hit 350 easier with a better one? Yes

The ETS or AMS would be the clear choice out of all the ones you listed, Evo's that break records and win races here in the states run either Buschur, ETS, AMS or CBRD a few other's that use the Garret cores are good also but i have never ran across a real built evo running Greddy or Perrin.

ETS has also improved on the core of the IC's they are supposed to be an improvement over the Garret core's that Buschur and CBRD use, no one really knows what core the AMS utilizes but it's not a Garret.

I have a AMS intercooler and absolutely love it. The craftsmanship on the end tanks are gorgeous.

CBRD does not use the Garrett core on the X.

AMS and CBRD source their cores from the same manufacturer.

I have an AMS core, I love it, If I had to do it again I would pick AMS. ETS is on top of their game and they have made improvements. I just got a really good deal from AMS. THEY ARE FTW

That's a solid looking design at a nice price. May I ask what core it uses? It actually looks quite similar to the prototype MAP FMIC I have (a few differences, but similar in design). Is the 24.5 lbs. accurate for just the intercooler or does that also include the clamps/couplers?

http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/M...duct_info.html

We have several options to choose from ranging from mild to wild. The 4.0" is the largest core that fits behind the crash beam without cutting and trimming. It's also a full 20" core so it fills the whole bumper opening where some of the other intercoolers don't.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Good Luck!

Thanks,

Michael
