If you want to go over 200 mph I would suggest getting a different car. The amount of money you are talking about is silly. You may as well go buy a used viper and put a procharger on it. It will probably cost a lot less.

Well then go for it. Good luck on the custom trans. Oh and FYI, I hit 380 TQ with E85 on the stock turbo tuned by Bryan. This was with Intake, CB, and test pipe.

You don't need a custom trans, all you need is a final drive change that's available and 9k rpm. Gates himself even wanted to get a stock trans and final drive, so he could go 200mph+ in the Texas mile. I'm also very well aware what e85 will do for torque, but I don't live in a place were e85 is at the local pump or within a resonable driving distance. That's why I asked about 91. Thanks for the motivation to prove you wrong.

Really? Changing a stock transmission in such a fashion would by definition make it a custom trans. So not sure how I am wrong. Stock + modification = Custom. Did you really think I meant a brand new custom original housing creation. I am not trying to be a dick and tell you it cant be done. But many people come on the forum's with silly ideas and no idea the cost or work involved. If you actually make the first 200+ mph X my hat is off to you. I have no clue if Mr. Gates has actually accomplished this or not. Good luck though. Because if you factor in built engine, turbo kit, bad *** clutch, re-built trans (happy now), beefed up transfer cases, brake kit, brake pads, tires, rims and so on to hit 200+ mph and go around a road race track you can easily be in the 30k + range in mods. Note to mention the crazy money it takes to maintain a car like that if you actually run on the track. I noticed you gave your location as a military base. I know I could not even come close to making a car like this when I was enlisted. But hey maybe your a general. Or you dont like to save any money. If I am way off base and you are a doctor or lottery winner I apologize in advance. It may be my fault for assuming based on your location. Thanks for the motivation.

I agree. That goal isn't possible with a BBX. I'm ~400/500 on a 2.0ltr with E85 on a Dynojet. On 91 you need a Black, imo.

There seems to be a misconception that going up .2 in displacement adds 10% more power. It hasn't worked like that on the builds that I've seen.

He did not and he was over 700whp with a very light X. He has hit 188 at BIR, which is where his gearing/normal limiter max out. The real challenge with the X at those speeds is aerodynamics...it is a brick compared to many sports cars that have much less headroom, etc.

Watch Gates texas mile run...he coasted for like 1/2 the run and gunned it at the end. He was way outta gear...he needs a 6th gear and he would break 200mph with his car...he has enough power to overcome any aero issues I'd say.
