Dual tip (Perrin or Greddy) or single Litespec Titanium exhaust???

Hi guys,

Newb here - I drove a BPU WRX for last 6 years and finally got my EVO X

Can someone tell me what are the advantages and disadvantages of the dual tip exhaust system? The WRX only had a single tip, but now the new ones are also using dual tip exhaust?

I'm debating between the Perrin Dual Tip ($800)

Greddy SE ($999)

LiteSpec Titanium ($840 in the for sale section)

So are there any advantages of the dual tip exhaust versus the single tip? Has anyone tried the Litespec titanium exhaust yet? What's the weight on the Greddy or Perrin?

I've done a search, found some reviews of the Greddy, but no real comparison between the 3. What do you guys think?

Thanks for helping out a newb!

Really depends which you think looks and sounds better. The singles will be lighter while the duals will be quieter. For the most part, power is going to be very similar regardless since they're 3" systems. One thing to note, a lot of JDM exhausts (GReddy included) have a neck-down at that cat so they're not a true 3" catback; not an issue if you retain the stock cat, but as soon as you get a HFC or a testpipe it'll become a restriction.

Hi Kracka, thanks for your response! So basically the dual exhaust systems are quieter at the expense of weight? Has anyone tried the titanium? Is it loud for the EVO X? I heard some titanium exhausts for the Subaru which was pretty loud but my buddy's EVO IX with 3.5" exhaust was quiet!

Thanks for the heads up on the necking-down - we have that problem with the Subarus as well where it connects to the factory downpipe!

Titanium systems for the most part are going to be loud since they're designed for light weight, and in sticking with that design the mufflers are generally small and lack a lot of sound absorbing packing material.

Yea the Greddy se exhaust necks down, I haven't heard the litespec in person, but I have heard it is very very loud. Most people have been happy with the perrin exhaust.

Personally I would go with the Greddy if I were you since you are in CA. It's a nice system and not too bad as far as cops go.

I have an ARK performance exhaust and they are located in CA. I think they are like 700ish installed. It's great quality and an amazing looking exhaust..

My vote is for the Perrin. Sounds amazing but not too loud and is lighter than stock.

I'm pretty sure that the GReddy Spectrum Elite (SE) DOES NOT taper at the cat. The reason is because it's 70mm not 80 like the others. The reason they have that taper is for the clearance of the bolt heads.

throw invidia q300 into the mix too. It's little louder than the perrrin, but manageable. It might also be a little cheaper

I have a perrin and love it. Plus, you can get it in black so the exhaust system doesn't draw attention. The quiet sound is also pretty nice. I can get away with it at Laguna Seca w/o lifting between turns 5 and 6.

Been considering the Litespec and Greddy singles. I've always had Greddy on my previous cars and have been happy with them, but the Litespec is pretty damn tempting. Here's a pretty good review of the Litespec https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...st-system.html
