Talking Questions for you CP-E Exhaust Owners...

I am in that stage of where a new Evo X owner spends way too many hours a day researching, listening to youtube videos, and searching in forums to help decide what exhaust to get.

So my questions are for you CP-E exhaust owners:

1. At what rpms do you feel/hear drone the most and how bad in your opinion (scale of 1-10) I've only heard of one guy complaining about drone while cruising around town and if this is true to most everyone, I will have to pass as I do mostly city driving.
2. Also CP-E says they worked hard on making sure the system has great ground clearance... what are your experiences? at some angles the mufflers seem to hang low IMO but hey, you guys know best.
3. From the looks and rep, I'm assuming it's great quality but go ahead n tell me quality experience.
4. How long have you had it, and has anything changed? for better or for worse?
5. Ok loudness... for both cb and tb ppl... how loud do you feel it is on a scale of 1 to 10 1 being stock and 10 being similar to the ETS V2 Extreme or something to that nature.
I'm looking for a relatively quiet set up... I want SOME sound but I do live in LA and cops are not known for liking imports w exhausts... unfortunately they seem to ignore the insanely loud exhausts from domestic muscle cars though... but whatever. So would you say it's at or below the 95db legal level of CA? (not that you actually have a meter that reads the db, but relatively speaking of course)

Answer some, all or even add in something I didn't even ask if you want... just tell me your experiences and what I should expect from day one.

Thanks guys!

I own a cp-e single as far as drone when I had a muffler on it it wasn't bad at all, I am now not running a muffler and obviously its bad.
-Ground clearance I have monster speed bumps in my community and it only scrapes were my test pipe connects to the catback, I am lowered on eibachs
-Had it for 5k miles still looks brand new quality is very good
-Muffler after 5k miles got a bit more aggresive but nothing crazy
-Loudness i have an invidia catles dp/tb and with single muffler was reasonable at idles and really opened up at WOT. I am now running no muffler and it sounds crazy loud its not my dd so I don't have a problem with it.

Thanks for the feedback Tico! Great pics, however I should have been more specific as I am looking for people with the dual set up, but thanks again.

I have full CPE dual turbo back. No resonators or cats.

I haven't noticed any drone really and I do a lot of city driving.

The mufflers do hang low but long as your careful and not doing 30 over speed bumps you'll be fine.

The quality looks amazing and exhaust is definitely out together well. Very clean welds and everything fits tight.

I'll rate the loudness compared to stock in my personal opinion.

Idle: 3
Cruising: 4-5
Wot: 7-8

It will be decently quieter if u get the resonator and cat.

Hope this helps you. I personally would never want another exhaust. Its puts a smile on my face everytime I put the pedal down.

Awesome, I think I'm pretty much sold on this system... do you have springs? or stock height?

I'm on eibachs so I'm lower than stock.

cp-e is garbage, had it never will buy from them again, garbage customer service, and product, hits the bottom of the car, and cp-e has no fix for it, and scrapes over bumps, stay away, ended up selling for 100 dollars the dual version, but let the customer buying know how bad it was, but i guess the price was right for him, at the time and he has since moved on to ets v2 as well, coz he could not live with the *** exhaust

Lol i guess the 1000's of people that own and are happy with the exhaust are crazy and this guy is right....

Lol and who in their right mind would ever sell an exhaust for 100$ even if it was a ****ty exhaust let's be real.

Hopefully you don't let this tool bag turn you off.

well at least he's honest... which is the reason I made this thread. No "turn off" though

I don't plan on lowering my car, do all of you experience scraping?? or only on lowered evo's?

heres mine.... i have the CP-E resonated cat back dual, CP-E power pipe with HFC.... when i was running the stock DP it did drone some what gasing it in 5th on highway. I have recently gotten the MAP O2 elim DP, changed the tone to a more mellow low rumble. the drone has gone away for the most part. when i come home my kid can hear me coming, since i drive in 2nd, but not loud. i am 37yrs old, my wife is 41.... i hate loud exhaust, this one makes me happy. never had clearence issue, i am at stock height. when i installed it, i had the rear section clamp on backwards and it rattled whenever i hit a bump... so i lossened it and turned it to ther side.,... noise gone and am happy. you'll like it. BTW.... WOT people know your coming.

I'm also deciding on an exhaust.
I did a search, and haven't picked through all the results...

Who on evolutionm is selling the CP-E exhaust?
I think I want the CP-E dual with resonator. Out of the vendors I've checked online, I've noticed only lancershop.com shows the option for the resonator, and they're selling it for MSRP.

Am I correct in assuming any vendor will ship the resonated version if I call them up and ask for it?

BLU.... call Adam at MAP... tell him i sent you. they are the ones i got mine from. i too got the resonated duals, but i also got the CP-E power pipe with HFC at the same time. Adam will get you the cheapest price. better than anyone.

MAP just told me they don't sell CP-E exhausts any more.
They said the price from CP-E wasn't consistent, and that was bad for business.
