Oil temperature while lapping and daily driving

Hey!

I spent yesterday lapping at Calabogie Motorsport, which is a road course in Ontario, Canada and it was pretty awesome! Anyway, I kept a close eye on my Defi gauges to see how warm my temps get under harsh driving conditions. The highest temperature I've seen my engine oil get to was 105 celsius which is 220 fahrenheit. And this was only during the first afternoon session. (sessions lasted 30 minutes) In other sessions, I was around 95 celsius or 200 fahrenheit. No idea why it got hotter on that particular session. My driving style was pretty consistent between all my outings. Ambient temperature on that day was 14c / 57f.

When I drive on the streets (not in traffic), my oil temp is around 82-85 celsius or 180-185 fahrenheit . I've seen it hit 95-100 in traffic in hot 95f summer days.

Should I be concerned or my temps are absolutely normal? Should I be seeking other cooling solutions for my track days? My car is modded, I've got a CBRD aluminium rad, intercooler, all the piping, ebcs and it is etuned by ams. Last time I logged data, the highest boost I've seen was 26 something psi. I tried to log data while lapping, but for some reason, when I got home, I had nothing logged onto my AP. Must have done something wrong..

For those of you who have an oil temp gauge, what temps are you usually seeing, are you modded and under what kind of driving conditions?

Thanks!

220 degrees is not hot at all for oil temp-

nothing to be concerned with-

you could try a more race weight oriented oil-

Are u running regular 50/50 mix or oem coolant? If u are try 80% distilled 20% coolant. Oil and coolant temp affect each other. 220/220 isn't bad at all.

Yeah I'm running 50/50. Will 80/20 freeze in low winter temperature? If so, i'm gonna wait until next spring to try it out. I'm done tracking my car for this season anyway.
Thanks for the replies Chad!

the risk of it freezing is definetly there in theory-

I have never had it happen-

once its over 55 degrees consistently, you can run just water and water wetter
