Divorced downpipe = divorced gasket?

Hello all,
I'm a big ol' newbie, so please take it easy on me.

I bought a used HKS "GT Extension Kit" downpipe. It is a divorced style downpipe, do I need a divorced gasket too? I can't seem to find one for sale anywhere! The closest I can find is ETS makes a divorced downpipe which comes with a gasket - I've sent them a message asking if they would sell just the gasket by itself.

It looks like the person who owned it before me just used an OEM style gasket so I'm guessing that HKS didn't even send a divorced gasket in the kit when it was new - for shame!

Let's say I am not able to find a proper divorced gasket. What would you guys suggest? I've heard of some kind of copper spray. Is that my best option?

Thanks!

ETS and MAP both make a divorced gasket, and I'm sure either would be willing to sell you one.

I tried to get ets to sell me one for my ultimate 02 dp, they would have if they had any extra's in stock.. but at that time (few weeks ago) they did not and were not sure when the next batch was going to be made....

Thanks!

I just talked to Michael at ETS. He said that the ETS divorced downpipe has a slightly different profile than other downpipes. He also said that people have tried their gasket with the HKS and the MAP downpipes and have not had much luck. But, on the plus side: it sounded like they had them in stock.

I ordered one from MAP, I hope it works!

For those who are curious: the price was about the same from both companies: ~$25 + shipping (~$10+).

There will be slight leakage between the two chambers then.
