AEM Dryflow Filter = Clean it Often
Been using the AEM Intake for two years now and learned from experience to clean the dryflow filter at least every oil change (3,500 miles). I used to wait a longer of period of time (7,000 miles) to clean it. The before and after difference in engine performance was very noticeable so I decided to clean it more often to avoid a dip in performance.
This is just driving on roads in Southern California. No off road driving. The filter has a tendency to collect small road debris like tiny pieces of leaves and grass in the inner recesses of its pleats. I use a shop vac to the filter to remove the debris, rinse it with water and a mild soap to get out the dust, and let it dry.
