I am getting a whoosh sound whenever the turbo engages. It wasn't like that before, so not sure what the problem is. The power is still there, please let me know what could cause this. Car is 100% stock

 

just because he's a noob doesn't mean you have to give a stupid response.

To the OP, it definitely sounds like a boost leak. Check you hose clamps on the intercooler pipes.

 

Are you sure there is no ambient noise difference? FWIW, I could always hear the turbo, bov, intake, etc., even when the car was bone stock. Of course, that was only when the radio was off and the windows were down.

 

X2 - boost leak
