Question about test pipe!!!

Friends, I am thinking about buying the 3" Ultimate Racing Resonated test pipe for my Evo X. I am looking for free flow, but don't want crazy noise. Do you guys think this is a good choice, or what do you guys recommend?? Thanks in advance.

less noise, go with High Flow cat instead, just my opinion. I have AMS and love it.

Are you running a stock catback or aftermarket?

Resonated testpipe is the way to go if you want power but are concerned with noise. Power of a testpipe, noise of a HFC.

Is there really no performance difference between rHFC/testpipe?

There is a performance difference between a HFC and a testpipe. On a stock turbo setup I'd expect about 10whp, but the larger turbo you go with the bigger the gap.

When I installed my UR test pipe (no resonator) with my stock exhaust, there was barely an increase in noise.

fwiw I am now running Ultimate Racing's straight pipe dual exit exhaust with no resonators paired with their test pipe without resonators, sounds amazing.

I'm running the UR resonated TP with UR exhaust.
It's not loud sitting upfront as the passenger
but if you're in the back seat, you won't be able to hear the conversation upfront
For a TP, it's really not that loud

Thanks for the replies. I have an HKS cat-back system. It is very quite, yet it has good flow. I don't know many people with that exhaust and a high flow cat or test pipe. That's why I want to know if the combination of both will make the car louder or not.
