2011 Block
Have any of you guys had one of the latest X engines apart (2011 on)?
There is a modification to the oil squirter for the timing chain. The squirter is removed and instead a hole is drilled in the oil gallery.
As we haven't had any 2011 cars in the UK these blocks would be rare here, unless someone had ordered a new block from
What I would like to know is what the details of the modification are and can it be carried out retrospectively. Removing the squirter would take away one of the main hazards if the timing chain is stretched and presumably is at least as good (if not better) for chain lubrication.
