Anyways, today I ordered a bunch of parts which ran me $6000+ for this engine build. The list is finalized and as follows:

1. Wiseco 9:1 pistons
2. Manley Turbo Tuff I beam rods
3. ACL Rod bearings
4. ARP head studs
5. Supertech Intake and Exhaust Valves
6. Supertech dual valve springs and retainers
7. GSC S2 Cams
8. Walbro 255
9. MAP 1000 cc injectors PnP
10. Ported Intake Manifold
11. Fully ported MAP EF3
12. Competition stage 2 clutch
13. ACT Streetlite Flywheel
14. AMS Clutch Master Cylinder Upgrade

Chris at MAP hooked me up. He has excellent customer service skills and provided me with everything I need even after business hours on his own time. A BIG THANKS goes to Chris Carey at MAP.

Good luck. That's some massive detention to cause cracking like that.
I'm neurotic with my car so I always have my cobb ap hooked up and set to display knock.

As promised, here is an update of what is going on. I received all the parts beside the MAP EF3 and Intake manifold. They had just received my stock turbo and intake manifold for porting on Thursday. I received my ACT Streetlite flywheel, Manley I beams, Wiseco Pistons, ACL Rod Bearings, Walbro 255, MAP 1000cc Plug and Play Injectors, and the OEM Mitsubishi Engine Gasket set. Everything came on Saturday. AMAZING shipping time and customer service by MAP.

We began tearing down the motor today and was able to successfully remove the head, pistons, and rods in a matter of 5 hours. Cylinder number 4 with the low compression had 2 cracks on the side of the Piston. Piston 1 had 1 small crack on the side as well. Cylinder 1 wall had 2 scrapes. You can feel it gently with your finger nails. I do not want to pull the block so maybe I can get away with honing the cylinder. The pics are as follows:

This thread will turn into my build thread. Hopefully it will be successful

Anyways, we found out what happened. My turbo seals went apparently. All lines, intake, and cylinders were being sprayed with oil. This caused detonation and cracked a few pistons. I don't understand as to how my stock turbo took a dump with only 32k miles on it. There are too many variables. This also explains why my MAF sensor went out on the same day as the tune. Atleast that's what the theory is. Regardless of the past, I look forward to a successful build on a MAP EF3. The head was sent off to the Machine Shop for GSC S2 Cams, Supertech Dual Valve Springs, Titanium Retainers, and Supertech Valves

do not just hone the block in the car and drop pistons in! those cylinder walls do not look good at all. if you just slap new pistons in, you will be doing it all over again soon after you have massive oil consumption and poor compression.

Wow, I wish mine isn't the same. Though the symptoms r the same. I gotta check tomorrow. Hopefully it's nothing catastrophic like yours coz I don't have the money for a build.

2nd this. You will be cursing your self if you do drop ins. can you exchange the pistons and go up a size. I ran drop ins for a couple of months for fun but it cosumed a lot of oil. I also had alot less miles and damage then yours based on the pictures. Get it machined so you do not have to do it again. I only had a weekend to fix mine where i had a spark plug pop so rigged it till nicer weather.

From what the mechanic said, it looks like we will be able to get away with honing out the cylinders. We will be checking piston clearances soon. I can scrape our fingernails across and feel the scrape but it doesnt stop the finger from going. We will hone it out and see how it feels and go from there.
