Greddy Ti-C exhaust details and tuning suggestion

Hi guys,

I just bought a '10 Evo X (ive owned an Evo VIII, so excuse the old sig down there) and have a question that I cant seem to find the answer to any where.

Will a Greddy Ti-C turbo back need a test pipe along with it?

Also, will a Cobb AP be worth anything if I plan to have the card dyno'd and tuned after the exhaust, intake, U/LICP.

I'm new to the tuning game as my last Evo had all I could ever want done when i bought it.

Thanks guys

I thought the Ti-C turboback was downpipe all the way back and the test pipe was built in? Also, yes you can still sell the AP's for $500 or so, or go to a place that tunes with the AP. I originally had one and it was good for tuning as you add each part but if you're going to put all your stuff on at once and get tuned I wouldn't bother. Again, check what your tuner prefers

The greddy Ti-C is from the CAT back. I just ordered mine and was told to go with a test pipe with it for more gains. So, I would recommend getting a test pipe to go along with it. A downpipe is not needed yet until you upgrade the turbo so don't worry about replacing it as well. I'll be making thread when I get the car tuned in two weeks so you can see the gains.

I have a ti-c and I just paid the extra 100-200 to have the whole setup all the way from the turbo to the muffler. Stock downpipe is restricting.

I've heard the Greddy Ti-c tappers down where it meets the stock cat, can anyone confirm this?

there is both a turboback and catback version.

turboback has no taper
catback has a taper to about 2.75

i got the catback then ams downpipe then ams testpipe.

I didn't notice any performance loss at all on the dyno. I'm sitting at a cool 350/350 @25psi
It probably does affect it to some degree if your shooting for like 500whp+

Same goes for a resonated testpipe.
Gains are laughable unless your building a dedicated drag car.

i wouldn't trade it for the world. love the sound with a resonated tp.

so what youre saying is that you now have a flow restriction in your exhaust due to having a 3" test pipe flowing to a 2.75" exhaust flange?

technically yes, but performance wise... i see no restriction.

for the price I payed for the catback and the deep sound it has def worth it

FYI for those with the Ti-C like tehSteve I was told by the guys at MAPerformance that they regularly cut the taper section off magnaflow exhausts and replace with a 3" section and that cutting the tapered section off of the Greddy and replacing with a 3" section is cake for any welder or exhaust shop should you want to eliminite that flow restriction. Should cost at most $50.

As far as sound goes, is it worth it to spend the extra 200 bucks for the SP Elite (dual) to keep the noise down? I am looking at the Ti-C or SP Elite catback to go along with the UR mini muffler TP.

Thanks
