Drive train whine or what?
Ok, I know of the first gear whine and my GSR definitely has that when the car is decellerating with the clutch pushed in however i've started to notice that my 3rd gear has started to produce that whine when accelerating around 3k. Goes away when I push the gas a little more.
Hopefully it's nothing too crazy, I have read about evox's having gear whine especially in first gear. I'm going in for my 1,000 mile oil change this week, any other fluids i should swap out?
The car has 1235 miles and has never been launched or driven over 100 mph.

Knucklez your 1st to Reverse is very common and quite a few Evo's struggle with it. Here is the sticky about the fun transmission issues we fight

My notchiness from 1-2 and 2-3 is a lot less now due to breaking in the car and getting a weighted shift knob.
This damn noise though, it's driving me crazy.

Just so you have something to compare to, mine seems to only slightly whine when I'm decelerating in 1st only when I'm off the clutch. As soon as I press the clutch to switch into second or come a complete stop no noise. Mines an 08 Evo 100% stock 42k miles <just bought mine 2 months ago

I honestly don't know what the problem is and I am clueless because the car is brand new.... I'm wondering if any of you guys know what the problem might be (if there is one) by looking at the video I posted.

It sounds very similar to a transfer case whine although when they start to fail its usually around 60mph that the noise begins. It usually doesn't sound like that until it gets worse. It didn't look like you went that fast in the video. Does it get louder at around 60 mph?
I read some 2010 and 2011 evos had an overfilled transfercase. When that happens and too much pressure builds inside the case, there is a bleed valve that squirts most of the fluid out and there is not enough fluid left in the case to keep things lubricated properly.
Of course it may not be your issue at all but my guess is the transfer case. I see you're going to the dealer anyway. It would be a good idea to have them check the tcase and tranny fluids while they have your car.
Report back what happened when you get your car back.

It doesn't get louder around 60 mph. The sound only appears at specific rpm's in certain gear. I'm hoping a simple fluid change will get rid of it.
The big question is should I take it to South Coast or HB?

I literally spent a whole day sunday checking under the engine hoping it wasn't the turbo and I have definitely ruled that out. I will still have the stealership check it out this weekend.
Thank you for your reply, puts my mind at ease knowing that i'm not the only one getting these random transmission whines.
