AMS Short Ram Air Intake
I am new to the "Evo" World and I am looking to do some upgrades. I am looking to purchase the AMS Short Ram Air Intake system, along with the AMS Upper and Lower Intercooler Piping with the TiAL QR Recirculating BOV. When looking at the options for the Short Ram Air Intake, it asks you if you need the "Breather Bungs" as well for an additional charge. I'm not really sure what that is and if it is something I even need to purchase. I have a brand new EVO X GSR. Please let me know what you think and also if anyone has any tips while responding to this, they would be much appreciated. thanks again.

Here is a cheaper price for the intake
http://www.maperformance.com/ams-evo...ce-intake.html
And I was wondering if you had considered The ETS intake? With this one, it doesn't replace the MAF housing, and therefore you wouldn't need a tune with it.
If im Correct, the AMS one replaces the above mentioned, and could make your car run a little funny.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
ETS intake
http://www.maperformance.com/ets-col...s-evoxint.html
But about the Breather bung, Im assuming that you would want to get the bungs, because if you didn't you would need a buy an oil catch can and have that installed or those hoses would just vent just into the air. and you probably wouldn't want that.
The upper intercooler pipe is a good upgrade, Does lancershop do free shipping? Because if they don't,
here does, and it is the same price
http://www.maperformance.com/ams-evo...-hot-pipe.html
And the lower intercooler pipe with the blow off valve. This would be a waste of money unless you were pushing a LOT of boost. The stock BOV is good to around 25 PSI
In my opinion An exhaust would be a much better use of seven hundred dollars,
the stock lower intercooler pipe is quite good as it is.

To the OP, great choice in the setup. I have the same parts (just CAI attachement) The breather bungs are for the stock boost solenoid and stock crank case breather. If you choose to go without the bungs, you need to run a catch can for the crank case breather and the boost solenoid can just vent to atmosphere.
I ran the intake without the bungs or a catch can for awhile (was waiting for AMS to send me the new pipe due to fitment issues) and never had any issues. But then they sent me the intake pipe with the bungs by mistake, which i didnt mind.
Here is a picture of my setup
And this is what the TiAL QR bov sounds like. (keep in mind the sound varies abit since i have a FP Red turbo)
As well as if you go with this bov, get the -6psi spring. The spring that comes with it, is way to stiff and you will get some flutter/surge.

Anyone know a way to make the AMS short ram intake compatible with an EFR 7163 turbo? Specifically I mean the turbo inlet. On the stock turbo it as a little inlet pipe that bends about 70 degrees from the stock turbo. The EFR 7163 does not have something like this. So is there any way to make this intake compatible?
