@ 63k miles + MAP EF3 for 450whp.

Hello all. My goal is 450whp, I'm thinking of adding:

Map ef3
Id1000cc
Dw65 fuel pump
O2 housing

Currently I have 360hp/350lbft at 26psi with:

Ets 4" intercooler
Synapse BOV
Hallman MBC
UICP
K&n drop in
Ur testpipe
Magnaflow exhaust
Twm short throw shifter

Car runs good, still with stock clutch at 63k miles, So I'm thinking is it safe to add the parts mentioned above. What do I need to check on the engine to make sure the motor is healthy enough for it. Also someone suggested the o2 housing. Why do I need that?

Thanks for your input.

Mod list looks good. o2 housing/downpipe is a restrictive piece especially for stock framed turbos. You should gain about 10 to 20 tq just from the downpipe .

The ID1000s and DW65 fuel pump are a great combination. We have the same as well as the ETS downpipe. I'm going to send you a PM with some pricing and the deal we are offering currently on the ID1000s and the DW65 pump. I think you will be thrilled with the price.

Thanks Chris. Great prices. Will definitely give you a call when I'm ready. Just want to know if there is anything I should check before adding the bigger turbo.

Next PM I just sent you will explain it all Just make sure the TQ stays below 400tq and you will be okay. The tune will be everything. If you want over 400 tq building the motor would be your next thing.

I have similar mods but I'm making 453awhp with an EF4.

But I'm also on 92 octane atm.

It's not busted, I know I need one. Thinking of the act me1-hdss.

With labour, tuning and all my parts it's gonna be around $5000. It's either that or I get a used isf. I love Lexus and the evo so it may be the perfect balance. Since I don't track. So confused right now.

Good luck with your goals man! Sounds like your heading in the right direction, and as mentioned before, "The tune will be everything".

Stick with the X man. F*ck Lexus, they kill people.

You could have the shop do a compression test and chemical test on your radiator (head gasket test), but honestly, if it feels good, all should be good.

Best o2 housing setup on the market is MAP's o2 eliminator downpipe. I looked at all of them and between the stories of cracking or just kinda odd design, MAP gets my vote (with coating on it of course!). Rexspeed was a close second.

Here's a bunch of pics I took of mine if you want a close look.

You may also want to look at doing upgrading your intake as it may become a restriction for you with just a drop-in. At the very least, upgrade the inlet tube to a perrin (or similar) but you may end up maxing out the stock MAF housing so you will want to either look at an AMS, AEM, MAP, or Primo intake. Something that suits your needs and flows nicely. Other option is to do speed density, but idk if that's worth it at this time as there's not a lot of tuners out there that can do it.

Lastly, do you have an upgraded front motor mount yet? That's one small mod that will help keep shifting nice as you make more power!

I have a turbo currently in transit to MAP to be upgraded... I just cannot decided between fully loaded EF 2.5 or EF 3, and I do not see the decision getting any easier!

Honestly, it's really just about what you're looking for. The EF3 will get you better results at the top end, but slower spool up times.

I was waning between the EF2 and EF3 for about 6 months and then they released the 2.5 - so it was a no-brainer for me.

Look up Kracka's thread on the 2.5. I'm sure you'll find plenty of answers in there.
