The final drive is now available for purchase and can ship as soon as we get it on our store (should be less than an hour) We have used their final drive in 8/9's but thats about it from the product line. I havent touched their turbos, exhausts, exhaust manifolds, or other gear sets as of yet.

I drive about 80 to work every day. This sounds interesting. I'm afraid what it will cost to install this sucker.

Assuming nothing else needs done inside the trans and you ship it to us it would be $450 labor. If its getting rebuilt at the same time this adds about an hour so to that process but obviously that also has parts and other stuff going on as far as total pricing.

Do you see any disadvantage to running this FD?

Did you see anything on the 8/9's?

I just worry about staying in boost between gears, wondering if this lengthens it out too much.

Just curious. I am probably going to do an FD my next clutch change and I am torn between this one and the 4.28 from shep.

I dont see any disadvantage. Luke's car and Little Joe's car both drive great on the 4.0 when they were 2.4s and now even on the 2.0L they also both run. The 4.18 will make up for the X having a slightly higher 1st gear vs the 2.92 VIII and 4.0 FD. The gear spacing doesnt change so the car will be dropping to the same rpm as before just at higher speed than before.

Joe from the shootout? I would run the 4.28 if you already have it as the 4.18 isnt really enough jump to justify spending the money. If this isnt Joe then I would say go ahead and do it if you are still a stock final drive.

Anyone interested in setting up a group buy? We will need 20 people to get a better price. If so I will contact Tomioka and see what we can get it dropped to.

Depends on the price, I would consider it.
