Noisy short shifter?

Had a TS short shifter, base bushings, and cable bushings installed a little over a week ago.

Little difficult to explain, but I get a creaky sound when shifting into first, third, and fifth. I can also feel the shift push into third (loudest shift). Shifting into second and fourth are quiet and smooth...no issues.

I don't recall this with my VIII and I actually recall the short shifter being pretty quiet. I went back to the shop and they said it felt normal and did not notice anything.

Any suggestions?

Was there enough grease used when installing? I've heard some shifters where the person installing just didn't use enough. After going back and applying a bit more it went away.

I wonder if it is the bushings. Are they supposed to be greased?
