Just Received Works Short Shifter and Knob.. Quality Issue?
Hi everyone,
Hopefully those who have this setup can speak of the quality of the short shifter as mine has some crazy big "ball" weld on it and some quality issues. See the pictures below and let me know if this is how it should look.. I'm most worried about if the weld is going to eventually break...
The knob looks great and I will post a picture of it as well!
Thanks

That was on the stock short shifter with the WORKS grab knob installed. It was just in neutral. Now that I have installed it, neutral is almost down where 2nd is! It is soooo much shorter! They said only 25% reduction, but it is a HUGE reduction and feel now!
That's correct!
Just to add to this thread. I installed the WORKS short shifter, shifter based bushings, and their grab knob today. Besides for all of the cuts on my hands, it went pretty smoothly, haha. The only hiccup was dropping a bushing down under the carpet (this is very easy to do) and I had to pull the front seat out to locate it! Also, I wish the directions would have said to force the new urethane bushings in by putting on under the shifter and slamming it down onto it. I kept trying to put them up in the base with my hand and it didn't go too well. You don't have any room to get a hammer or anything else in there to get it in either. So if you plan on doing this install, align the bushings and push down onto them with the shifter base!
The initial impressions are amazing thus far! I can already tell a HUGE difference in overall shifter feel. It is extremely tight, the gears are closer together, and the shifts are so much shorter! It just feels smoother overall and I'm extremely happy!!

Does this unit eliminate the sloppy feel of the stock setup? Do you still have the mushy feel in and out of gear?
I have been considering this unit for a while and was thinking of installing it this week when input my new clutch in.
