Best place to get a new engine?

Im looking at getting an X and looks like if I do, It will need a new engine. Whats the best place to get an engine for them? Went to the mitsu dealer, was told they don't sell them drop in ready so I asked how much is the assembly then and got quoted $2900 just for the bottom end and thats with a 20% discount . Thanks in advance for your guys help.

might as well get the motor rebuilt from a reputable shop rather than getting a stock from the dealer.

Since you're in WA state, I'd say English Racing.

Rebuild the engine that it has. (If you can)
It'll be stronger and cheaper too!

I was planning on starting new and fresh since the car didn't have many miles, 60k. But I guess the best option is for me to rebuild it. For now, all I want it is to run, so I don't need a big hp motor, yet. Thanks for all your guys help and input. It is very much appreciated.
