Exclamation Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator

Hey guys, so I got a loud exhaust ticket like 2 months ago and I went to the state ref to see how loud it actually was. I have a single exit Speed Circuit Wicked Edition exhaust with stock cat and stock dp. Ref tested it at 103db holding it at 4875rpms. So I added a Vibrant ultra quiet resonator right behind the rear axel and it did quiet down alot but, I went back to the state ref and he tested it at 104db. It went up by one db. Would adding another Vibrant ultra quiet resonator make a difference? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you,
Jo

Resonators must be placed at the correct location (along the exhaust path) to work. I highly doubt that the correct location is that far back; closer to the gas tank is more believable. As you have discovered for yourself, a resonator in the wrong location can make an exhaust louder.

Also, any chance that the sound meter was picking up on your choice of font, instead of your exhaust?

Thank you for your reply. I understand. Sorry for the font choice lol, I just thought it would look better to read. -Jo

I used to live in orange county CA, now i live in the saint louis area in MO. Yea the emmisions laws here are pretty easy. Like the county i live in all you need is a safety inspection. There is no emmisions testing. All they check is tread depth of tires and your brakes and ball joints, and headlights and brake lights. So its much easier!
