FP Red/Black Vs gtx3076r/gtx3582r

Been looking at doing both of these combinations. Want to keep drivability and fun to drive. This is to why I was leaning on the red/black. More the red due to the power range of 450-500whp. This car isn't something that will be tracked, its really being built for fun to drive on the road and enjoy. What ive seen the red and 30r is fairly comparable. The black and 35r are fairly comparable. Talking power wise. I like the idea of the stock frame turbo, but also like the 30-35r setups. Opinions on these and if you have any of the above chime in and let me what you like and dislike. Thanks!

If FP will still build you a red or black, driving characteristics will by quite a bit better than a t3 GTX turbo as far as spool up and transient response are concerned.

They're not building new units. I'm pretty sure you can send them a good used core and they'll build it into a 71hta/green/red/black for you. Wouldn't hurt to call them. Amber and Robert were extremely helpful every time I talked to them..

You can send a unit in and they will build it. I emailed to confirm a week or so ago. That's why I threw this option in. Sounds like a good deal. Id like to hear from people who have had both. I know you cant go wrong either way but one way is about 4200 more or so and is it really that justifiable?

I think stick to stock frame unless you build the motor. Also if you have a stock car, a t-3 or BW turbo kit makes sense. If you already have an aftermarket down pipe and exhaust manifold, then you are only a stock frame upgrade away from a complete kit. Of course a t-3 kit costs more, because you a buying a full kit. Also difference from ball bearing to journal bearing. If you go t-3 or BW you can swap to different turbos as your need changes. If your goal is 450-500whp I would stick to stock frame.

I might be selling my map Ef-4 ported&coated, map ex. Manifold coated this winter. Only 4K on the turbo.

I had my turbo rebuilt by Turbo Charger Systems in Oregon. I abosulely LOVE how the car runs with it. It spools quicks makes great power and sounds amazing. Oh and I only paid like $1400 for it! The turbo is similar to a GTX30/35. Its spec'd right between the 2. I will hopefully get some new numbers when i get some time. Here is a pull I did a few weeks ago. I think the car is running a bit harder now...

E85 built engine.

I'd actually go GTX3071 or GTX3576 depending on how much power you want.
