Worried about limit of stock clutch after tune
It's my first post on here (or any car forum), so be gentle
I just picked up a 2013 Evo X MR earlier this month, and we've been upgrading it and putting new parts in. We've put in all new Brembo brake pads, tranny fluid and filter swap, and getting new Brembo slotted rotors this week.
How much can the stock clutch safely handle? We took it to get dyno'd today, and it ended up at 345whp/355 torque. We upgraded the spark plugs, but it's still running on a stock clutch. Is there anything that can be done relatively cheaply to help reinforce the clutch and lessen the chance of slippage? (without having to take the whole assembly apart)

in short...no there isn't much you can do to reinforce the clutch packs, aside from just being gentle on the car. You will eventually have to replace them or upgrade them, its going to just depend on your driving style and habits.

With a proper tune on the SST, and the Dodson heated/cooled sump, the stock clutches will handle what the stock block can safely handle. Per English Racing, and their Evo tuner daily drives a X MR.
